The beautiful mountain scenery

The beautiful mountain scenery
Aleea Abbas

This beautiful mountain scenery
Is beautiful beyond belief
From Hunza you can see
The sun is rising, from behind the peaks
In the pale morning light
They slowly begin to shine
In the golden dawn of a new day
“Why, I always love to be
In that bed of mine
Watching this terrific sight”
My grandfather tells me
And I think that I might, too
Be awake before the sun comes up
And see.

Maisy and the mushroom

This story is not complete. I'm posting the first part only.

MAISY AND THE MUSHROOM
Once upon a time there was a little pixie called Maisy. She lived with her mother and little brother on the far side of a wood. It was called “Fairy wood ’’ where pixies and fairies and magical creatures lived together. Now, Maisy was a mischievous little sprite, so you may know that she loved playing tricks on people and magical creatures.  There was a town on the other side of the Fairy Wood. People of the town didn’t go to the wood because it was so big that you could get lost very easily. When people looked at the fairies’ homes or the fairies, they couldn’t see the homes or the fairies themselves. There was a little girl called Mary who lived at the end of town (near fairy wood). She was just as naughty as Maisy and didn’t listen to her mother. One day, she was very bored because there was nothing to do. Suddenly, the naughty girl had an idea; she thought that she would go into the forest and explore it without anyone knowing (because she wasn’t allowed to go there). She packed some things to eat and went off to the wood without telling anyone. Meanwhile, Maisy was disturbing every person she met and going to her friend Mindy’s house. Mindy lived in the heart of the forest. When Maisy got there she thought that they should go near the town to see what it was like. Maisy and Mindy had been told never to do this and Maisy knew perfectly well that they were not allowed to but the naughty sprite didn’t listen to anyone so she would go even if Mindy didn’t want to come.  “Maisy you know that we’re not allowed to do that. I’ll stay here because mummy told me never to do it and besides, someone might see us.” said Mindy. “Don’t worry no one will see us, because nobody ever comes near Fairy Wood.” said Maisy. “I don’t know. . . . . . . . . . . . But even if nobody will see us I still think we should stay at home because we’re not allowed to go. Maybe we should do something else, it would be fun and we wouldn’t be breaking any rules” said Mindy because she was a good little pixie and always listened to her mother. Maisy didn’t say anything because a plan had started forming in her mind. “Maisy, Maisy!” shouted Mindy when Maisy didn’t say anything. “Oh, I’m sorry, but I’ll have to go now,” replied Maisy and she said goodbye and went away. Now I’ll get back to Mary because I’m tired of talking about Maisy and I’m sure you want to hear about Mary too.
Mary slipped out of the house without anyone noticing. She opened the gate, went outside and soon found the way to Fairy Wood. She wasn’t afraid of going there, not at all! She didn’t think it was bewitched and thought that it would be fun to go and explore it. She walked happily through the peaceful forest, looking, and wondering at the beautiful plants and flowers. Soon she got tired and decided to have a rest. “I’ll just sit down and have a sandwich or two,” said Mary to herself and that is just what she did. After she had had a few sandwiches, she started wandering the forest again. Before she had walked very far, she stopped and looked around. Then she tried to walk back the way she came but after walking a little way, she knew she had forgotten the way home. She sat down on a small boulder and started crying. She knew it wouldn’t help but she couldn’t stop herself. She was very worried and sad. I was wrong to leave home like that and now I’ll never get back, thought Mary hopelessly and she was just starting to cry again when who should come by but Maisy. “Why are you crying?” she asked, startled to hear such a loud noise. “B –b-b- because I’m lost and can’t find my way home!” she cried. “Did you say you’re lost? I can’t hear you over you’re sobs.” said Maisy. Mary seemed not to hear and cried even more. Soon Maisy got impatient and shouted “Stop crying!” Mary looked up.
She saw that who she was talking to was a pixie. A fairy! She thought. For a moment she was too amazed to speak. “Well? Aren’t you going to talk? Hurry up and tell me your story because I don’t have all day” snapped Maisy. “Are you a fairy?” asked Mary. “No, I’m a pixie. Now why were you crying?” asked Maisy. Mary told her all that had happened to her. “Oooh! you poor thing! Maybe I can help you, because I’m headed that way now” said Maisy because even though she was naughty she was good at heart and was always ready to help. “Thank you” said Mary “but how are we going to go? Do you know the way? Have you got a map? She said. “Yes I have a map” answered Maisy “so let’s go already!” They walked on for quite a long time and got tired so they decided to rest as they had started from near the heart of the forest. “Have you got anything to eat?  I haven’t had anything to eat since this morning” said Maisy. “Yes, I packed a basket of food and I’m kind of hungry myself” said Mary. “Great!” said Maisy. They started eating and soon finished up half of the basket. (They finished only half because they had to save some for later). Both said that it was delicious and I quite agree. They had sandwiches, muffins, apples, roast chicken, pasta, and two slices of pizza. It was all delicious but they needed something to drink so they had a bottle of water and a bottle of Pepsi. They only had one cup but they didn’t mind and enjoyed their feast. “Time to go” said Maisy. They got up and started to walk again. Soon they came to a path that had trees on either side of it.

“This is the end of the forest” said Maisy, looking at the map. I’m going to reach home! Mary thought happily. They walked on and came to the part of the path that had no trees near it. “We’re out of the forest” said Maisy. She made herself small and flew up to Mary’s shoulder. “Where are you?” asked Mary. “On your shoulder” answered Maisy.
“Why?”
“Because someone might see me”
They walked on in silence until they came to the houses. “This one’s mine” Mary told Maisy “Come on and I’ll show you inside”. They went in. “This one’s my room” Mary was telling Maisy. They went into a pink little room and Mary showed Maisy her things. Then they went down into the kitchen to get something to eat. “Why don’t you get big now? There’s no one in the house,” said Mary. They sat down at the table and had some sandwiches. Maisy asked many questions and Mary answered them. It was soon noon and time for Maisy to go home. “Oh my pants! Look at the time! I really have to get going Mary, Mum will be angry with me if I’m late!” And with that she opened her wings, became small (so as to fit through the open window) and flew off as fast she could. Luckily she got home on time and just when her mother was getting ready to go shopping. She had to babysit her little brother. He wasn’t so bad…… He wasn’t bad at all. He was really quite a nice boy who was very fond of his mother and sister. Mrs. Trix came back in a couple of hours, just in time for lunch too. She quickly made lunch and they sat down.
‘How was Terry while I was out?’ she asked. ‘Fine’ said Maisy. They finished and Maisy cleared the table. Mrs. Trix and Terry watched T.V and Maisy read a book. Meanwhile, at Mary’s house, her mother came back. It turns out she was shopping. She asked Mary what she had been doing. She said quite truthfully that she had been exploring.
‘What did you find?’
‘Nothing.’
Afterwards, Mary’s cousin arrived to spend the weekend with her. She told her about her adventure. Misty didn’t believe her  but her sister, Lily did.
